| Resurgence of Measles in Geneva ! Since the beginning of the year, new cases of measles have been diagnosed in Geneva among which adults. It is highly recommended that all adults under 47 years old confirm that they have received a booster vaccine and that all babies over 9 months old get vaccinated. Measles is an infectious disease that appears mainly in late winter and early spring. It is highly contagious and spreads via the respiratory tract due to coughing or sneezing. The main symptoms are cough, conjunctivitis, colds, high fever and cutaneous rashes in the form of red patches that appear 3-4 days after the initial symptoms. Long considered a childhood disease, measles now also affects young people and adults who have not been or are insufficiently protected from the disease. It is imperative to see your doctor for a consultation if you have any doubt in order to avoid spreading the disease. Measles can be dangerous and may cause severe complications, especially in children below two years and people in fragile health.
